Last night, me and Sumarrós stitched together. It was wonderful. Since me and my mother have the same respect and passion for needlework and crafts, and I know how much it has meant to me to have someone so close to me as my mother is have this respect for what I love the most, it feels wonderful to be able to share the same joy with my own daughter.
When I got home from work yesterday and she came home from a friends house the first thing she asked me was ‘Mom, can we stitch together tonight?’ And off course I said yes! It was wonderful.
She isn’t willing to share her progress yet since she wants to get a little more stitching done on her project before sharing a picture :o) Spoken like a true needleworker eh?
This picture was taken the same day we celebrated her birthday, after all the guests were gone. She was so excited to start stitching. She first sorted through her yarn and cut it to useable lenghts and then she sat down and started. She told me so many times ‘Mom, I really love stitching, don’t you?’ Adorable!

My oldest daughter Sumarrós turned 8 years old (oh my, where does time go?) on June 14th. We had a family party today at my house and the birthday girl was very happy with everything. I am quite exhausted after this weekends cleaning, baking, cleaning and cleaning some more so I will just leave you with the pictures I took today. I wish I would have taken more, but somehow there is always other stuff to do than to take pictures when you have guests over.
Anyway, check them out if you want to. I also took some cute ones of me and my daughters once the guests were gone :o)
I have been stitching, but it has almost only been for exchanges. But I have been stitching a little on Newton’s Law Birth Sampler. Here is an updated picture:

I am almost done with my Little Critters Exchange, just need to do the finishing on it. I love what I did, it is so cute. Other than stitching, I have been working. But this week I am on summer vacation from work with my daughters. I am hoping that the weather will allow us to go camping for a night or so sometime this week. My girls really want to go camping and I would love to get out of the city for a while. Well, I need to go to the store and do some grocery shopping for the week. I hope you all had a great weekend.
Mary left a comment and asked how I finished my Lizzie*Kate’s 12 Blessings of Christmas project. Well, I haven’t finished it yet. I am 99,9% sure that I will finish it as a pillow. I will off course post a picture once the finishing is all done, probably not until after this summer.
Last week I sent a little something to Becky to cheer her up and as a little thank you for the wonderful tins that she sent me. You can see what I sent her at her blog. I stitched that little bee some time ago and off course it was perfect as a thank you gift for Becky The Queen of Bee’s 🙂
Thank you all for stopping by. It really means a lot to me 🙂 I have now added an About me page. Please stop by and find out a little more about me if you would like.
I got a package in the mail just now with a beautiful Needle Roll from Jen aka Kelayrel on LiveJournal.
It has some pretty speciality stitches in it and I tried to get a close up of them. You can click the thumbnails for a closer look:
She also sent me some goodies!
A needle threader, DMC Linen Thread, a stitchable aida bag (perfect for some nice smelling herbs) and The Swettheart Tree’s Wildflowers Needle Roll pattern with charm! Thank you so much!
I am sorry if I haven’t been commenting on your blogs. I have been busy and when I sit down to read blogs I usually have a baby in my arms. Things are busy but good. I am reading your updates, just not commenting as much as I would like. I hope you all don’t mind. I will be back full force very soon. I promise.
I have the best friends, and many of them I have never met. One of them is Hannah. She sent me this RAOK package and I am so thankful!
She sent me 3 fat quarters of beautiful fabric, a box of heart shaped pins, 4 packages of pins, a box of assorted Kreinik threads and ribbon in 4 different colors. How did I get so lucky? The pins are very hard to find here and when you find them they are insanely expensive, so getting all of this from Hannah is just amazing. And I really like the heart shaped ones! If there is anything I can do for you, let me know! And that goes for all of you! I love to help a stitcher in need if I possibly can 🙂

I got a wonderful package last week in the mail from Becky. I had been lusting over her wonderful finishes where she uses altoid tins. I have never seen these tins around here, and Becky was such a sweetheart and offered to send me some to try. She sent me four of them! Thanks so much!!(only three are pictured as I gave one away to my friend Rósa who also wants to try this finishing method).
And today I got Matter’s Choise + Silk from KarenV. She was cleaning out her stash and I was very quick to jump at the opertunity to get this chart. I think it is beautiful and can’t wait to stitch it.
I have been busy stitching, but it is for an exchange (the Little Critter’s Exchange at the SBEBB) so I can’t share any pictures yet. I also got to know who I will send out to for the Freebie exchange! How exciting. I haven’t figured out what to stitch yet though. So many choises! And work has been crazy! I started my new position on Friday. Did you all see the new issue of The Gift Of Stitching? Gorgeous!!
