In my daughters grade there are 20 other girls. The school’s policy is that if you invite one girl from your class to your birthday, you invite them all. So that means 20 gifts pr.year. So the housewife in me is trying to use up some yarn that I know I would not normally use in gifts for them. There is a birthday today, so Thursday night I whipped this cute headband up. Only took about an hour and a half and I did the flower today. I am not very good with the crochet hook, and that flower is not perfect, but it does do a little something extra for it. My daughter was sweet enough to pose with the gift for me so here are some pictures.

Now let’s hope that the gift is a success and that I can save a little money by making some of the gifts like this 🙂

This is the second time I knit this pattern, and I still love it.
My older daughter Sumarrós gained a brand new baby sister on January 6th. Her father and his wife had a baby girl that is so sweet. I met them today and gave her the little sweater, that is still way to big for her. She is such a sweet baby, slept in my arms the entire time. So now Sumarrós has 3 siblings, her sister Karítas that you all should know by now, a three year old brother and this little bundle of joy. She is a rich girl! Me and her father and his wife all have a very good friendship between us, and I adore their son and now this new person in our lives 🙂
So off course I knitted for the little girl. And it only took me two days this time around to knit, and I really enjoyed it. The yarn I bought for it is oh sooooooo soft and nice. Perfect for a little one! And I added a little Noro to it that I had left over since I knitted my Boneyard Shawl.

My daughter Sumarrós has a very colourful personality. And she is an artist. And she loves colours. And she fell in love with this yarn that I had in my stash. I had actually started knitting a scarf from it, but figured it would have gotten extremely long and narrow, so I decided to frog it and use the yarn for something a bit more useful. Sumarrós has been asking me to knit her a shawl for some time now so I decided to grant her that wish.
I have been home since Tuesday because I had to have a small surgery (don’t worry, I am fine and healing and resting) and have just been watching movies and TV shows and off course knitting and even stitching a little also. And I finished her shawl. It is very cute, very colourful and very much HER! I can’t wait to give it to her.

This was a Christmas gift for my very good friend Lilja. I did not manage to get pictures of it before I gave it to her as I cast of, washed and blocked it on the 23rd of December. So it was barely dry when I wrapped it and gave it to her on the 24th of December. She just came over today with some delicious bread and goods from the bakery and we had coffee and talked and she did bring the shawl with her so I could finally take pictures of it. It was really hard to take decent photos of it, both because of the previously mentioned lack of daylight, and the colours of the yarn. So I had to pull out my Photoshop skills (hah!) and do my best.

Yarn: Spinning a Yarn Fibre Club – handspun by my friend Ágústa
This was a very easy pattern, with a beautiful end result. The handspun yarn is just incredible. The pictures do not do it enough justice! The colours are much more vibrant and beautiful in person, but I guess you are just going to have to take my word for it.
Now I am off to take down the Christmas decorations and pack them in boxes, clean and try and enjoy the weekend after a very crazy week. I hope you all have a great weekend!
Thanks everyone for the comments and e-mails of support about me stitching more! You guys are amazing!
I started a SAL with Carolyn after my latest post. We are stitching ‘Antique Hearts Needleroll’ by Shepherd’s Bush. Here is my progress.
Antique Hearts Needleroll – Shepherd’s Bush
As you may have noticed, I got the wrong lace in my kit. It was supposed to be wider and with hearts on it, but mine was slim and had flowers on it. I don’t mind really, it will just make mine unique 🙂
I am also stitching a small monthly SAL that I started up in my Icelandic stitching group. The group has not been very active lately, and this is an attempt to keep both myself, and other stitchers busy and their needles flying. The rules are pretty simple, it is a monthly SAL, the design has to be relatively small and available as a freebie online. Here is my progress of this little project.

The pictures are not so good since it is dark most of the time these days and these were taken under my OTT-Lite. The best I could do in these dark filled days really.
