Only 10 days until I start my summer vacation. Can.Not.Wait.
I do not have much planned other than relaxing and hopefully some camping trips. Sun has been out for some days lately, but now it is grey and raining again. I hope summer will turn out better than it has started. I need it after the boring winter we had.
I did a little yarnstorming on June 19th. It was 98 years ago that women over the age of 40 got the right to vote and the theme for the day was “Paint the City Pink”. So a little bit of pink yarn was used for decoration.
Friday was lovely! White win on the balcony at the office with the sun shining.
One of the many cats that live on my street. This one is very friendly.

Karítas left Monday morning for a 4 week vacation with her father and his GF. I miss her already, but I know she will have so much fun!
We have had a busy and wonderful week and weekend. Sumarrós turned 14 last Friday! FOURTEEN! I am still in a state of shock I think. She is amazing, wonderful, smart, funny, kind and beautiful inside and out. I am so proud of her.
It’s still raining almost every day. Where is my summer?
View up Frakkastígur.
On Friday, Sumarrós’s Birthday, I took the day off to spend it with my girls. We had sushi for lunch as requested by Sumarrós. We invited our favorite people to join us. The sushi was amazing!
My Birthday girl. She got permission to shave all her hair off. I think it looks great on her!
On Sunday we had a BBQ for Sumarrós, and invited our family and friends over.
The weather could have been better. Light drizzles, but no wind so people just dressed accordingly and it was ok.

First of all, I finished the blanket I have been working on for my little nephew Adrían. YAY! Happy Dance! I am so happy with it and can’t wait to give it to him when he returns back to Iceland after visiting the other half of his family in Poland.

Cotton yarn from Söstrene Grene in 11 different colors.
I used about a skein of each color, and about 2,5 skeins of the blue that I also used for the edges.
My week started with a lot of wool sweaters. This is at the storage space at work, where we have been sorting through hand made sweaters.
Finally, Laugavegur is a pedestrian street for the summer! And do you notice something colorful on the bike?
Here it is! Yarngraffiti! When I took the first picture, I did not notice it. And the day after I was looking at it again, just before passing by the place again and then I noticed it and took a better one of it. Woohoo for yarn goodness!
Ístex, the makers of the amazing Icelandic Wool, Lopi, decided to do something pretty cool and amazing and make NEON colored wool. Yellow, green and pink. So pretty!
And I ended the week with a bit of yarngraffiti with my bestie, Rósa. It is inside a camping car for KúKú Campers. They had an art blast on Friday and we decided to participate in the fun.

It’s June people! How did that happen? It was Christmas just a week ago, or so it seems.
While cleaning out my outdoor storage room, I found the leftovers from the Yarngraffiti Bus me and my crew did last summer. Now I am thinking of where to put this up as it is just a shame to keep them in a bag in my storage.
Rain, rain, go away! It has been raining almost the entire week. I am so tired of it. I am hoping this is just the world watering the plants well before the sun comes out full force.
Me, the man and Karítas went swimming in a new pool in a different town yesterday. There are so many good pools here in Iceland. Check them out if you ever come over (and call me to have a cup of coffee or a glass of beer).
She likes building pillow houses and cuddling in them. Can’t blame her!
